Dunlop DFH chosen to supply New Zealand for 2017-2019
Kartsport New Zealand today announced the Dunlop DFH tyre as the control tyre for 1-1-2017 until at least 31-12-19 in all classes that are tyre restricted (Cadet through to and including Rotax). This adds to the already contracted Dunlop wet weather tyre in New Zealand.
A comprehensive on-track testing program was carried out with four different manufacturers putting up tyres and Dunlop DFH proved to be the best.
The DFH compound has been used in Australia previously. It was awarded a 1 year contract for the 2015 Australian Kart Championship in KA2 (Junior ICA), KA4 Junior (Junior National) and Cadet12. The tyre proved to be a long lasting tyre with very little drop off and offered the driver higher grip when compared to the Dunlop SL1A. Dunlop Kartsport wish Lascom Motorsport all the success with this new contract, we are sure the New Zealand karters will love the Dunlop DFH.
The DFH will continue to be offered in Australia and has already won Round 1 of the Australian 125cc Gearbox Superkart Nationals. Recent testing in 125cc Rotax Non Gearbox and 4 Stroke Endurance Karting at tracks like Sydney Motorsport Park, Queensland Raceway, Phillip Island and Warwick have seen very fast and consistent lap times, low wear and great feedback from the drivers. We are sure the Dunlop DFH will be the tyre of choice in Superkarting and quite possibly could be “the best low to medium grip 5 inch tyre Dunlop has ever produced to date.”
